One of the most intreaguing explanations for the supposed disappearances of ships and planes in the Triangle is the following:
There are large methane deposites locked beneath the world's oceans. One possible explanation for the goings on in the Triangle is that some of the methane is released in large bubbles, sort of like blowing into a glass of water with a straw... If your a big (or not so big) ship floating on the surface of the ocean when one of those bubbles comes gurgling up from the sea floor, your gunna find yourself literally floating on air (ah, that would be sinking, wouldn't it).
Of course, this doesn't adequately describe how planes might have been lost, unless the bubble was so big and the density change so great that a plane would loose substantial lift as it entered the bubble.
